Rafael Guillermo Bustamante Cantillo

Rafael Bustamante Cantillo came up through Fortaleza before making the move to Deportivo Cali in 2019, the club with which he would spend the bulk of his early career. He was part of the Deportivo Cali squad that won the Cuadrangular de Pereira in 2018.

In 2021 he left Colombia for Panama, joining Tauro FC on a free transfer. The switch paid off: Tauro won the Clausura title that year, giving Bustamante a championship medal outside his home country before he had turned twenty-two.

He returned to South American football with Jaguares, arriving on a free transfer, and from there took the route many Colombian midfielders have followed to Europe, going out on loan to Vizela in Portugal. The loan spell was extended into a second season, keeping him at the Portuguese club through 2023 and 2024, before he made his way back to Deportivo Cali.

Bustamante has played as a midfielder throughout his career, wearing number 21 for Jaguares. He has yet to be called up to the Colombian national team.
