About the player
Rafael Profini joined the club's academy in 2020 after a trial, having already passed through the youth ranks at Centenario, Newell's Old Boys and Belgrano.
He signed his first professional deal on 29 December 2023, and it took until 9 November 2024 for him to make his senior debut, coming off the bench in a 1-0 win over Atlético Tucumán. Between those two dates sits a title: in 2023 he was part of the squad that won the Copa Santa Fe.
The 2025 season brought the change that shaped his career at the club. Profini had been used as a central defender, but was moved into central midfield. Across his time at Unión de Santa Fe he made 45 appearances, scoring once and setting up six goals for team-mates.
Unión de Santa Fe kept a 20% sell-on stake in the player. Profini has since made four appearances for FC Kharkiv , continuing his career in Ukraine.
