Rene Rodriguez

Rene Rodriguez came through the Guaraní youth ranks, joining the club's junior side in 2022 and featuring in the Copa Libertadores U20, where he scored once in a single appearance. He left before establishing himself in the first team, moving out on loan to Sportivo 2 de Mayo in Pedro Juan Caballero, where he spent more than three years and built the bulk of his senior experience.

At 2 de Mayo, Rodriguez settled into a regular role in defence, playing close to fifty matches and contributing two assists, without finding the net himself. The loan gave him the sustained playing time he had not yet had at Guaraní, and it shaped him into the right-back he is now known as, though he has also been used at centre-back.

He returned to Guaraní this year once the loan period ended, and has featured in a dozen matches back at the club that developed him. He has not been called up to the Paraguay national team.
