Renso Figueroa

The match against Atlético Grau in the Liga 1 Apertura was into its final moments when Joao Villamarín stepped up to a penalty. Figueroa saved it, and was named figure of the match. That was May 2026.

The path there ran entirely through the lower divisions. After youth football with Universidad San Martín de Porres Sub20, he spent four years at Credicoop San Cristóbal, developing from 2018 and finally being handed a senior debut in the Copa Perú in 2022. He left that year on a free transfer for Juvenil UTC, where he stayed until 2023.

The move that mattered came next: UCV Moquegua, the affiliate side of Universidad César Vallejo, playing in Liga 2, in the city where he was born. He did not stay put. In October 2024 he moved again on a free transfer, to FCR San Antonio, for a short spell. On 5 January 2025 he returned to Moquegua, again on a free, to a club that had by then been rebranded Deportivo Moquegua and was preparing for promotion to Liga 1.

In 2025 Transfermarkt named him Guardameta del Año — goalkeeper of the year. It remains the only individual award recorded against his name; no clean-sheet records or team titles are attributed to him in the available material, and the databases carry no record of a call-up at senior or youth international level.
