Robert Gumny

Robert Gumny came through the Lech Poznań academy and made his first-team debut in 2016, with a season on loan at Podbeskidzie. He settled into the right-back role at Lech, and by the time he left the club had made 84 league appearances. In 2016 he also picked up the Polish Super Cup, a trophy he later described as his first in senior football.

In September 2020, Augsburg paid Lech around €2 million to take him to the Bundesliga. He went on to make 101 league appearances for the German club over five seasons. That spell also brought his only senior goals for Augsburg — two in total.

His form at club level earned him a place in the senior Poland squad from November 2020, when he started against Ukraine. He was named in Poland's squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar but did not play at the tournament.

Before graduating to senior football, Gumny captained Poland's under-21 side and also represented the country at under-17, under-18 and under-19 level. At club level he was named Ekstraklasa's best young player for July 2019, while at Lech Poznań II he won the group stage of the Polish third division in 2018/19.

He returned to Lech Poznań as a free agent in June 2025, signing a contract to 2027 with an option to extend. Back in Poznań, he was part of the squad that won the Ekstraklasa title in the 2025/26 season.
