About the player
Sebastián Gallegos's career began at a European academy: he joined Atlético Madrid's youth system in 2009, going on to play for the club's reserve side and spend a loan spell at Badalona. He finished as joint-top scorer of the 2009 Under-17 World Cup, sharing the honour with three other players on five goals apiece.
His move back to South America in 2012 brought a domestic prize: signing for Peñarol, he won the Uruguayan championship. What followed was a well-travelled path. Gallegos turned out in Italy for Como, in Romania for Petrolul, and in Peru for Real Garcilaso, before a run through Chile, Uruguay and Australia that took in Cobresal, Atenas, Hawkesbury City and Sydney United 58.
He returned to Uruguay with Fénix and Central Español, then went back to Chile with Unión San Felipe, followed by a spell in Bolivia with Guabirá and a return to Chilean football with Universidad de Concepción. His most recent title came with Deportes La Serena, whom he helped win the Chilean second division, the Primera B, in 2024.
Gallegos signed for Palestino on 30 December 2025, wearing the number 18 shirt.
