About the player
Tudor Băluță is back where he started. Born in Craiova, he left home as a teenager for Gheorghe Hagi's academy at Viitorul Constanța.
At Viitorul, Băluță began as a centre-back before being pushed higher up the pitch, and the versatility has stuck with him: these days he is used mainly as a defensive midfielder but can still fill in at the back. His progress through the Constanța academy was enough to persuade Brighton & Hove Albion to sign him in the summer of 2019 for a fee of around €3m.
The switch to the Premier League was followed by two loan spells away from Brighton, first to ADO Den Haag in the Netherlands, then to Dynamo Kyiv, before the contract was terminated in June 2022. Băluță found his way back into it at home, joining Farul Constanța as a free agent.
Two seasons in Constanța were followed by a move to Śląsk Wrocław in Poland in the summer of 2024, a spell that ended in relegation to the second division. Once his contract there expired, Craiova moved to bring him back to his home city as a free agent.
