About the player
Timo's senior football has so far been played entirely away from the club that holds his contract. Every step of it has come on loan from RB Leipzig, and the first of those took him to Belgium: the 2024–25 season with RSCA Futures in the Challenger Pro League, where he made 21 appearances. Anderlecht held a purchase option on the goalkeeper.
The road there ran through four youth setups. He started at SpVgg Oelde, moved to Arminia Bielefeld until 2018, spent three years at Borussia Dortmund and joined Leipzig in 2021. In January 2023 he underwent surgery on a meniscus injury. Fourteen months later, in March 2024, he signed his first professional contract; it was subsequently extended to 30 June 2027.
He was registered with the Leipzig squads that won the DFB-Pokal in 2022–23 and the DFL-Supercup in 2023–24 without appearing in either competition, and he has yet to play a competitive first-team match for the club. After Belgium came a 2025–26 loan to SpVgg Greuther Fürth in the 2. Bundesliga, an arrangement that carried a purchase option for Fürth and a buy-back clause for Leipzig. On 3 July 2026 a further loan was announced, this time to SC Verl in the 3. Liga.
Germany have used him through the youth grades since 2021, when he debuted at under-16 level. His recorded tally reads four caps at under-16, four at under-17, one at under-18 and one at under-19, the last of them in the 2024–25 season.
