About the player
Timothy Awany played for KCCA in Kampala, where between 2014 and 2019 he was part of a side that won the league twice, in 2015/16 and 2016/17, and lifted the Uganda Cup on two occasions.
He moved to Ashdod in July 2019 and stayed for seven seasons. He scored his only goal for Ashdod in his debut campaign, 2019/20, and went on to make close to 190 appearances across all competitions. Ashdod's relegation from the top flight in 2026 brought that spell to an end, and Awany left as a free agent, joining Bulgaria's Botev Plovdiv.
For the Ugandan national team, Awany has been a regular call-up since 2016.
