About the player
The transfer that took Valerin Loboa from Colombia to Oregon was signed on 3 September 2025: a contract through the end of 2028, with an option for the 2029 season.
Loboa came through Colombian football and played the 2024 season for Deportivo Cali in the Liga Femenina. That was the year Cali won the domestic title, with Loboa in the squad.
She debuted for Portland Thorns in September 2025. As of mid-2026 she has made three NWSL appearances, mostly from the bench, without a goal or an assist in the league. She was named to Portland's expanded roster for the 2026 season.
Her international record began earlier than her move abroad. Loboa first appeared for Colombia in 2024, and as of July 2025 she had one senior cap. The national coaching staff named her in the squad for the Copa América Femenina in Ecuador in 2025, where she wore number 21 and Colombia finished as runners-up.
In 2026 she was called up again, for the SheBelieves Cup , and this time she played — three matches, no goals.
For now she has a league title in Colombia, a Copa América silver medal, and three league appearances in the United States.
