About the player
Wang Shijie came through the youth academies at Xiamen Beilei and Jiangsu Suning before joining the Evergrande Football School, which had a branch in Spain. He moved into the Guangzhou FC first team in 2022 and made his senior debut in the Chinese FA Cup that November, against Sichuan Jiuniu. Over his time at the club he made 32 league appearances, scoring twice, and added four FA Cup appearances with two further goals.
When Guangzhou FC was dissolved, Wang moved to Shaanxi Union on a free transfer in early 2025, where he now wears the number 21 shirt as a midfielder. He has also been called up to the Chinese U-21 national team.
