About the player
Xaver Kiefersauer spent a decade in Munich before turning professional, moving through the youth ranks at TSV 1860 München after starting out at FC Sportfreunde München. He stayed with 1860 for two years in the reserve side, where he made 49 appearances in the Bayernliga and scored eight goals from midfield.
His breakthrough into senior football came in 2026, when he was promoted to the 1860 München first team and made his professional debut in 3. Liga on 2 May 2026. He went on to make three appearances for the club at that level before the season took an unexpected turn: 1860 München lost their 3. Liga licence.
Kiefersauer signed for 1. FC Nürnberg that July, but rather than staying to fight for a place there, he was loaned out immediately to FC Würzburger Kickers, where he now wears the number 27 shirt in midfield. A right-footed player standing at 187 cm, he arrives at Würzburg with limited senior experience but a defined role, having played as a defensive midfielder throughout his time in Munich.
