J. Oyarzo

The academy at Racing Club de Montevideo did not come easily to Yuri Oyarzo. He had already been turned away from trials at Peñarol and Nacional before finding a home in the Racing youth ranks, where he eventually worked his way into the first-team picture.

He made his senior debut on 14 June 2025, against Nacional. The appearance came at the end of a season in which he had pushed his way into contention, and by the 2024/25 campaign he had established himself as a regular presence in the squad, wearing the number 37 shirt.

Oyarzo plays as a left-back, though he has also featured on the left side of midfield. At 171cm, he is not a commanding physical presence.
