FC Andranik was formed in 2023, a fresh team rather than the continuation of an older one, though its administrative base sits further east, in Vardenis.
Andranik finished sixth in the First League in its debut year, then went out of the Armenian Cup in the opening round, beaten 0:6 by BKMA. The following season it finished seventh, and the cup ended the same way, in round one, this time against Van.
Coach Arshak Mkrtchyan , who had previously worked with Van and with Moscow's Ararat, left the club for Estonia's Narva-Trans in May 2024.
In 2025/26, Andranik became the only First League club to reach the semi-final of the Armenian Cup, eliminating Syunik over two legs — a goalless draw at home followed by a 5:2 win away.
