Pyunik Yerevan II

Grigor Meliksetyan played one match for the reserve side in 2003, then two more between 2005 and 2007. From 2008 he was the first-choice goalkeeper for the senior Pyunik side, and between 2012 and 2017 he won four caps for Armenia.

The team was set up in 2001. It plays in the Armenian First League, the second tier, and it is where Karlen Mkrtchyan came through as well, before 56 international appearances.

For four seasons in a row the reserves won that division — 2004 through 2007. Promotion was never the object, so the titles meant something narrower. Second place came in 2008 and again in 2016, and there has been a run of third-place finishes, but the First League title has not returned since 2007.

In the 2021/22 season the name changed to Pyunik Academy. The pipeline still runs: in 2026 two of its players, Edmond Hayrapetyan and Armen Sukiasyan, were called into the Armenia under-19 squad.

Home matches are played at the main pitch of the Pyunik Training Centre in Yerevan, on an artificial surface laid in 2016. The senior club's red and white is worn here too.
