Aymorés

When the founders in Ubá met in May 1926, one proposal on the table was Santa Cruz, after the neighbourhood. An indigenous chief was chosen instead, and Aymorés it became. The club has never changed it, never merged, never been folded into anything else.

Blue and white from the start, and enough blue in the home shirt that the town settled on Azulão long ago.

The one title the Minas Gerais federation counts came in the second division of the state championship, the 2020 season, which was not finished until 2021. Aymorés went through it unbeaten.

Promotion brought a problem that had nothing to do with football. The Estádio Afonso de Carvalho, which held about 2,000, had no VAR equipment, and without it the federation would not clear the ground for Módulo I.
