Betim 2

Arena Vera Cruz seats about 4,800, and in 2024 that was enough room for a Betim side that won the Campeonato Mineiro Módulo II and earned a place in Módulo I for 2025.

Betim Futebol Clube was registered on 14 November 2006 by Wellington Wadson Lins. In 2012 the original club was deregistered. That cleared the way for Ipatinga Futebol Clube, founded in 1998 and based in the Steel Valley, to move its headquarters to Betim. In 2013 Ipatinga competed there as Betim Esporte Clube, also styled Betim Futebol Clube. In 2014 it went back to its own name. Ipatinga is now owned by Marcos Ferraz through Kraken Holding.

The nickname, Tiger of the Steel Valley , comes from that borrowed spell. It belongs to Ipatinga's region, not to Betim, yet it stayed with the name. Green, white and black are the colours.

Betim came out of the lower divisions. In 2023 they went to court over the registration of a player. Ipatinga is the side Betim's supporters count as their main rival.
