Inter de Minas

Itaúna, a mid-sized town in the interior of Minas Gerais, has only had a senior club to call its own since 2021, when Inter de Minas moved its headquarters there from Uberlândia, the city where the club had been founded in December 2014.

The stadium never made the trip: Inter de Minas still plays at the Estádio Municipal Parque do Sabiá in Uberlândia, a ground built for close to 53,000 spectators, though safety restrictions keep it operating nearer 40,000. Green and black have been the club's colours since a 2019 rebrand; black and red came before it.

The club is certified by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) as a "Clube Formador," a developer of young talent, and runs a technical partnership with Flamengo on player identification. That side of the operation produced a Campeonato Mineiro do Interior Sub-20 title in 2022, and sent defender Gabriel Gomes out on loan to América-MG in 2021 after a single season on the books. President Thiago Gosling, himself a former professional player, has steered that shift toward development football over short-term results.

Inter de Minas has no fixed rival; in the Triângulo Mineiro region it shares fixtures with Uberlândia EC and Uberaba SC, and the crowd it draws still depends on whoever fills the seats at the Parque do Sabiá.
