The Bhutan Football Federation opened a school in Thimphu in May 2022. They finished seventh of ten, and did the same again in 2024: four wins from eighteen matches, fifteen points.
The point of the exercise was never the table.
Karma Dema took charge for the 2026 season, the only woman coaching in the league.
There is no fixture here that anyone calls a derby. The Thimphu derby belongs to Thimphu City FC and Transport United, and the academy sits outside it, sharing the city and the league without any claim on the rivalry. In 2026 the team took part in the qualifying tournament as a guest, its results counting for nothing in the standings.
