Bzenec

Derby weekends here mean Hodonín or Vracov. Games against FK Hodonín carry the derby label outright; the meetings with FC Vracov come just as often, close enough in the pyramid that the two names sometimes get bracketed together as Bzenec-Vracov.

Slovan Bzenec came together in 1928, when Junior Bzenec, a side running since 1922, merged with Slovan Lideřovice. What followed was decades of regional football rather than anything higher: the club has never appeared in a Czech or Czechoslovak top flight.

That changed in 2015/16, when Bzenec won the Jihomoravský kraj championship and, for the first time in the club's history, went up to the Divize, the fourth level of Czech football. The team held that level from 2016 to 2019 before dropping back into Divize E, where it has stayed since — this season sitting eighth.
