The Coupe de France came back to Dijon in 2024, a gap that says something about how rarely the trophy has visited Burgundy, and how much the 1993 breakthrough still matters there: that win arrived the same year JDA Dijon Basket reached Pro A for the first time, promotion and cup arriving together. A second Coupe de France followed in 2006, paired that year with the French Supercup, and the club added a League Cup in 2004 and again in 2020 under its more recent name, the Leaders Cup. Abroad, the club has come closer to a continental medal than most French sides its size, finishing third in the FIBA Champions League in 2020 and runner-up in the EuroCup Challenge back in 2004.

Between those two eras sat a harder stretch: relegation to Pro B in 2010 after finishing 16th, undone within a year when Dijon came back up as runners-up. The club plays as Les Ducs de Bourgogne, a name that borrows directly from the dukes who once ruled the city, and meets JL Bourg-en-Bresse in what both sides call the Derby de Bourgogne. Home games are played in black and white at the Palais des Sports Jean-Michel Geoffroy, reopened in 1977 and modernised in 2019.

None of it traces back to a basketball court. The association was formed in January 1880 under the name Jeanne d'Arc, a multi-sport club with gymnastics, football and even a theatre section long before anyone in Dijon picked up a basketball — the sport itself was not added until 1924–1925, which still leaves the section among the oldest of its kind in France.
