The 2024 CONCACAF W Gold Cup was the first tournament of its kind, and Las Quisqueyanas reached it the hard way, through a playoff against Guyana.

The team took shape in 2002 and has spent its life without a permanent home. Matches are split between the Estadio Panamericano in San Cristóbal, which holds 2,800, and the smaller Estadio Parque del Este in the capital.

The scoreline that survives from the early years is 17–0 against the British Virgin Islands in 2007 — still the widest margin in a CONCACAF women's international. It sits oddly beside the rest of that decade, and beside the ranking of 81st reached in 2009, the highest the side has held.
