Green Gully

Green Gully's came from Malta. The club was formed in 1955 as Ajax Soccer Club, and when it went looking for colours, it borrowed green and white from Floriana, a club back in Malta, rather than inventing something new.

The name changed twice more before it settled. In 1966 the club moved to Green Gully Reserve and became Green Gully Ajax; in 1982, it dropped the Ajax altogether. That decade turned out to be the club's best: state league titles in 1981, 1982 and 1983, with the Dockerty Cup won in both 1981 and 1982. Green Gully spent three seasons, 1984 to 1986, in the old National Soccer League, Australia's top flight at the time, before returning to the Victorian pyramid. More silverware followed in fits and starts through the 1990s and 2000s, and the club joined NPL Victoria at its formation in 2014.

Green Gully Reserve holds 10,000.

He played for Green Gully and later coached it, and in 2016 took the side to the FFA Cup final — Liam Boland scored the winner that got them there, Nicholas Krousoratis also among the scorers that run — where they lost to Bentleigh Greens in extra time.
