Altona Magic

Altona Magic have made their way back into National Premier Leagues Victoria. The club plays out of Paisley Park Soccer Complex in Altona North, a ground that holds 5,000.

The club was formed in 1968 by Macedonian immigrants who first trained at Wembley Park in Yarraville. Before that it was Altona Gate, and before that Kingsville.

Three of those five Victorian Premier League titles came back to back, in 1995, 1996 and 1997, with two more added in 2008 and 2009.

Fixtures against Preston Lions are billed as the Macedonian Derby , both clubs tracing their roots to the same diaspora, and the meetings with Altona East Phoenix carry their own local weight. Nikolas Kalmar and Klimenc Taseski were part of the side, while Carl Recchia finished fourth in the voting for the league's Gold Medal that year.
