It was the workers of one of them, the Cotonifício Rodolfo Crespi, who put together a football team in 1924. They called it Extra São Paulo at first, then took the factory's name, and only in 1930 did it become Clube Atlético Juventus, at the suggestion of the mill's owner, Count Rodolfo Crespi, who followed Juventus in Italy. The grená and white shirts came from a different allegiance inside the same family: his son Adriano supported Torino, and the colours stuck.

The nickname arrived the same year the club took its current name. Moleque Travesso, the "cheeky kid", was earned after a 2-1 win over Corinthians in 1930, and it has followed the club since through divisions high and low.

Juventus play at the Estádio Conde Rodolfo Crespi, known locally simply as Rua Javari, a ground built for 5,256 but licensed for closer to 4,000 for safety reasons.

The one Brazilian-level honour came in 1983, when Juventus won the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B. A state title from 1934 took far longer to reach the record books: playing that year as Clube Atlético Fiorentino, the club won the top division of the Campeonato Paulista, but the Federação Paulista de Futebol only recognised the title officially on 23 September 2021, nearly nine decades after it was won. Juventus have also gone up through the second tier of the state championship three times — in 1929, 2005 and, most recently, 2026.
