Kingston City

The Grange Reserve in Clayton South holds about 2,000, and Kingston City have played there through most of the climb and most of the falls.

The club began in 1974 among Greek Australian families in Clarinda, first as Liverpool Soccer Club, then as Clarinda from 1975. The Kingston City name came in 1998, when council amalgamations redrew the local map and the committee wanted a name that reached beyond one community.

What defines the club is the traffic up and down the Victorian league ladder. Division 4 in 1986, Division 2 in 1994 and again in 2002, then back-to-back promotions in 2004 and 2005 that carried Kingston City into the Victorian Premier League for the first time. They lasted to 2007. The NPL2 Championship in 2016 put them back in the top flight — Damian Iaconis scored the winner in the promotion decider. Relegation followed in 2019.

Michael Marrone spent 2008 here before an A-League career; Michael Curcija passed through and went on to the 2000 Olympics with Australia. Nick Stamatiou stayed, and holds the club's appearance and scoring records from the Victorian Premier League years.

Kingston City now sit in Victoria Premier League 2, in red and white at The Grange.
