Werribee City

Joe Spiteri spent three seasons banging in goals for Werribee City between 2009 and 2011, twenty-seven of them. Craig Moore turned out for the Bees in 2011 too, a guest appearance that gave Galvin Park a Socceroo on its books for a few matches, and four years later Simon Colosimo, another old Australia international, found the net once in yellow and black.

The club grew out of the Italian Sports Club of Werribee, formed in 1969, and that background still runs through it under president Giovanni Inserra.

Across the City of Wyndham the fixture that matters is against Hoppers Crossing, a local derby without a grand name, just the neighbourhood settling things on the pitch. just two clubs from the same municipality who play it out.

Galvin Park Reserve, known to regulars as the Benlor Ground, holds a thousand people under a fixed grandstand with room for more in retractable seating. In 2021 the council and the state government put $3.8 million into rebuilding it, adding FIFA-funded floodlights.
