«The Stallions»
The name travelled further than the suburb did. When the National Soccer League launched in 1977, Marconi Stallions won the first championship, then took three more between 1980 and 1982. The club ran the show in Australian football for a stretch of the early 1980s.
It came back in 2017 by winning the NPL NSW 2 final, and in 2019 beat Sydney United 58 in the Waratah Cup final, 2–1. The state title came again in 2024.
Plenty of players came through Bossley Park before leaving it.
The badge carries green, white and red from the Italian flag; the shirts are sky blue and white. Home is Marconi Stadium, a 9,000-capacity ground a few streets from where the club started, known to the people who go there as The Palace.
