«Naça»
The Arena da Amazônia holds around 42,900 supporters, a good deal more than Nacional's own U20 side is likely to fill on a given weekend, but the ground built for the 2014 World Cup is where the club's youth team plays. Nacional, founded on 13 January 1913, has a senior badge that carries weight into whatever the academy does.
What the academy has done, lately, is win. The under-20 side took the Campeonato Amazonense Sub-20 in 2025, beating Amazonas 2-0 in the final. The Taça São Paulo de Futebol Júnior, the tournament that actually gets Brazilian youth sides noticed nationally, has not gone the same way; Nacional's under-20s have never won it.
Blue and white, the same colours the senior side has carried through decades of Campeonato Amazonense finals, and the same nickname, Naça, follow the juniors onto the pitch. The rivalries they inherit are older than any of them: Rio-Nal against Rio Negro, São-Nal against São Raimundo, fixtures that in Manaus carry more history than most of the players involved have been alive for.
It is a strange inheritance for a youth team — a stadium built for a World Cup, a rival's name shouted from terraces that remember finals from the 1970s — but it is the one Nacional's under-20s train under, working toward the same crest that first went up in 1913.
