São Raimundo RR U20

The rivalry has a lopsided backdrop. Founded on 2 January 1963 by a group who had moved from the São Raimundo district of Manaus, the club took the Campeonato Roraimense fourteen times, including an unbroken run from 2016 to 2023. Fans and locals call it Mundão, a nod to Boa Vista's own nickname, and the navy blue and white shirt is as familiar in the state as the Estádio Flamarion Vasconcelos, where it plays.

State dominance is one thing; the Copa do Brasil is another. São Raimundo has entered thirteen times, but 2023 broke the pattern: a 4-3 aggregate win over Cuiabá took it into the second phase, a feat only one other Roraima club had managed, before Botafogo-SP shut the run down with a 1-0 win. Spells in Série D in 2021 and 2022 both ended against Porto Velho, the second time on penalties.

Goalkeeper César came through the youth ranks between 2007 and 2009, signed his first professional contract at the club, and went on to win the Copa Libertadores and the Brasileirão with Flamengo.

None of it changes what still decides the mood in Boa Vista on derby weekends, when Sampaio or Náutico are the visitors.
