Speers Point sits on the northern tip of Lake Macquarie, and the regional football facility there holds a thousand people — enough for a Zone League grand final.

The Croatian-Australian families who started the club in 1984 entered it in the fifth division of the Newcastle League and then climbed, a promotion at a time: division five in 1986, division four in 1987, division three in 1988. By 1990 they had the Northern League One premiership. The club folded in 1994.

Newcastle Croatia was re-formed in 2021 and played its first matches in 2022.

Zone League Three in 2023, the Zone League Two premiership and the Community Plate in 2024, and in 2025 both the Zone League One premiership and the championship, the latter taken off Kotara South in the grand final.

The shirt is red with red squares, the shorts white, the socks blue.
