Ottawa Rapid

Second place in the Northern Super League's first regular season, and a table position settled by goal difference against that same opponent — that is where Ottawa Rapid stands heading into its second year in Canadian women's football. The league itself only kicked off in 2025, one of six clubs to found the NSL, and Ottawa's 25 matches produced 11 wins, six draws and eight defeats for 39 points, level with Vancouver but ahead of them at +3 to -3 in their meetings.

The club was unveiled on 15 August 2024, playing in light blue and orange. Diana Matheson, who helped set the league in motion, and Thomas Gilbert, the first CEO, put the project together before a ball had been kicked. Ownership changed hands in March 2026, when Arcadia MapleLeaf Soccer became majority owner and Nick Sakellariadis took over as chair.

The rivalry with AFC Toronto was there from the start rather than something that grew over years. The clubs have already met four times, two wins apiece and a draw, and the fixture carries the name Battle of Ontario. The first of those meetings was also Ottawa's first match in existence, won 2–1, and it set a pattern: Delaney Baie Pridham scored the winner that day, then scored again in the playoffs.

Katrine Pedersen has run the team from the touchline since October 2024, a former captain of Denmark's national side brought in before the club had played a single fixture. In goal and wearing the armband is Mollie Eriksson.
