Sdent BBC Nyon

BBC Nyon did not exist when the club it grew out of, Nyon Basket, won the national title. The bankruptcy that followed that success wiped the old entity out, and in 1991 the current club started again from the bottom of the pyramid, in the fourth division.

It took until the 1999/2000 season to climb back to the top flight. The title from that year, along with the Swiss Cup won two seasons earlier, remains the high point: BBC Nyon went on to the European Cup on the strength of it before Pallacanestro Cantù ended the run in the second round. Since then the club has settled into the role of the nearly-there side in the cup, finishing runner-up three times, most recently in 2022.

Maleye N'Doye's time at the club followed that arc in miniature: the Senegalese international played for Nyon from 2018 to 2024 and then stayed on as head coach.

Nyon's fixtures against Pully Lausanne Foxes carry the weight of the Vaud Derby. The Salle Polysports du Rocher, capacity 1,500, has given the club its informal nickname, "Le Rocher", though it will not last: renovation work is under way, and the team is due to move into the new Centre sportif de Colovray in the summer of 2026.

What the club has never quite matched is the club it replaced — the 1983 championship still stands alone.
