BBC Monthey-Chablais

In the 2017–18 season Monthey came close to going under. The debts had piled up, and the club was near bankruptcy until the entrepreneur Régis Udressy stepped in, paid them off and kept it alive. In July 2018 the name was widened to BBC Monthey-Chablais.

Promotion to the top flight came in 1978 and a title in 1981. Relegation to the second division followed in 1987. Monthey has not dropped out of the top tier since.

Two more followed, in 2004–05 and 2016–17. In between came the Swiss Cup in 2003 and 2006, and in 2016 and 2017 the SBL Cup, won in the same two seasons that Monthey's third league title was won.

Home games are played at the Salle Reposieux, a hall of about 600 seats. The yellow and green shirts are worn there against Vevey Riviera Basket, the side Monthey meets in the game known as Le Derby.
