Stalnye Lisy is the finishing stage. Formed in 2009 out of Metallurg-2, the old farm side, the club exists to supply Metallurg Magnitogorsk.

The name translates as "steel foxes," and the club leans on it rather than explaining it: orange and black with white trim, a colour set borrowed straight from Metallurg. In its first season, 2009/10, the team won both the regular-season title and the Kharlamov Cup, the Junior Hockey League championship — an unusually fast return for a club still finding its own identity apart from the reserve side it replaced. A year later they were back in the final and lost it, then reached the semi-finals the season after. The next real mark came over a decade later, in 2021/22, with the Eastern Conference title.

What the club actually sells is graduates. Danila Yurov and Pavel Dorofeyev came through here before the NHL did; Nikita Grebyonkin and Roman Kantserov followed the same route. Viktor Antipin's path from Magnitogorsk to Buffalo runs back to this dressing room too. None of that shows up in a trophy count, but it is the measure the club is built to.

Games against Belye Medvedi, Chelyabinsk's junior side, carry the weight of the Ural Derby, a fixture with its own local grievances separate from anything the senior teams do. The other regular flashpoint is Tolpar, Ufa's junior club, whose parent side Salavat Yulaev has been Metallurg's KHL rival for years — the dislike gets handed down a level.

Home games are played at Arena Metallurg, seating 7,704, a building that fills for junior hockey the way it does for the senior team's biggest nights.
