Jāņa Skredeļa stadions holds 432 people, a number that says plainly what kind of football gets played there: reserve-team football, watched by whoever bothers to make the trip. The ground, also known as Sporta komplekss "Arkādija", sits in Riga and belongs to SK Super Nova, whose second team, Super Nova 2, uses it as a proving ground rather than a stage.

The team exists to feed the first side. Super Nova itself was founded on 2 August 2000, but the reserve set-up carries no separate founding date of its own — it is restocked each season from the academy and from players easing back from injury or out of first-team contention, which is also why no individual name has attached itself to the shirt the way it might at a club built to be watched rather than used.

In 2026 that reserve side plays in the 1. Liga, Latvia's second tier, sitting mid-table after seventeen rounds. It is a step up from 2024, when Super Nova 2 played in the third-tier 2. līga and finished closer to the bottom than the top. The promotion changed who they play more than how they are watched: fixtures against Riga FC II and Metta/LU, the reserve sides of other capital clubs, now recur through the calendar without carrying any of the needle of an actual derby.

None of the senior team's honours, including the 2024 1. Liga title, belong to the second team by extension. What Super Nova 2 has instead is a shirt in yellow and blue and the same small stadium week after week, 432 seats in Riga waiting on whoever comes up next from the academy.
