Trento

Trento won the Coppa Italia in 2025 by beating Olimpia Milano in the final, the club's first national cup. The club had got close before: in 2017 and 2018 it played the Serie A finals, losing to Reyer Venezia and then to Olimpia Milano.

The route to those finals ran through Maurizio Buscaglia, who coached the side from 2010 to 2018. Under him Trento won the Serie A2 in 2012, the LegaDue Cup in 2013 and the Divisione Nazionale A Gold in 2014, and that last title brought promotion to the top flight. Its first season there, 2014–15, ended in the playoffs and a place in the EuroCup. Massimo Cancellieri took over as head coach in 2025.

Matches with Venezia carry weight because of those two consecutive finals. Games against Treviso are called the Triveneto derby.

The club's name has changed with its sponsors: Sosi Trento until 2005, Bitumcalor Trento until 2013, then simply Aquila Basket. The arena has had four names of its own, among them PalaGhiaie, BLM Group Arena and, since 2023, Il T Quotidiano Arena. The nickname, the Eagles, comes from Aquila, and the white and black shirts give the club its other name, I Bianconeri.

Trento began in 1995 as a merger of two Serie D sides, Dolomiti Sport and Pallacanestro Villazzano. Their presidents, Gianni Brusinelli and Marco Angelini, wanted a single club strong enough to bring local youngsters through and to climb the divisions.
