Verona

Scaligera Basket began in 1951 and shared a city and a yellow-and-blue palette with Hellas Verona, though the football club is a separate body. In the city's football rivalry, the Derby della Scala with Chievo, basketball has no part. The basketball side's rivals lie east, in Venezia and Treviso.

The Italian Cup arrived in 1991 and the Italian Supercup in 1996. A year later Verona reached the final of the FIBA Saporta Cup and lost it. In 1998 they won the FIBA Korać Cup.

The money ran out. The club went bankrupt in 2002, and for five years there was no Scaligera. In 2007 it returned as ASD Basket Scaligero.

The LNP Cup in 2015 was the first trophy of the new era. Home games are played at the PalaOlimpia, which holds 5,350 and is also known as PalaMAGIS.

The 1951 name outlasted the 2002 bankruptcy and is the one Verona plays under now.
