Treviso

Treviso basketball began in 1954 as Duomofolgore. It spent its first decades under a string of plainer names, and only in 1981 did its identity change. That year the Benetton family became sponsors, and the club was simply Benetton Treviso.

The European trophies followed: the FIBA European Cup in 1995, when they beat Taugrés 94–86 in the final, and the Saporta Cup in 1999, when they got past Pamesa Valencia 64–60.

The EuroLeague final twice ended in defeat.

The sponsorship ended in 2012. With the Benetton family gone, the original club dropped into the amateur leagues. A local consortium, Consorzio Universo Treviso, formed Universo Treviso Basket the same year, and the new club started again from the bottom. The colours changed with the name: the green and white of the Benetton years gave way to white, blue and orange, though the fans still say Gialloblu.
