Julyan Stone never scored like the club's headline names, but nobody at the Taliercio pulled more rebounds off the glass or found more open teammates: 1,446 boards and 796 assists, both club records that still stand. Reyer Venezia began in 1872 as a gymnastics society, named for Costantino Reyer by the teacher who admired him.

Gabriele Vianello spent two spells in gold and garnet through the 1950s to early 1970s, while a decade later Dražen Dalipagić, already a name across Europe, wore the same colours before his enshrinement in the Hall of Fame. Between them and the modern era sit two league titles won in the 1940s, then a long gap before the club climbed back: relegation in 2013–14 was followed by a promotion run through the second tier, and by 2017 Venice was champion of Italy again, adding another title in 2019 and a first Coppa Italia the year after. The FIBA Europe Cup, lifted in 2018, remains the club's mark on the European stage.

None of it carries the same heat as a night against Pallacanestro Treviso. The two sides sit close enough on the map that their meetings go by their own name, the Derby della Serenissima, and the history between them adds an edge no league table explains.
