The philosophy came before the football. Dr Tan Siu Lin, whose charitable work gave the club its four-character motto — 仁心仁足, a benevolent heart and skilful feet — is the figure the whole project traces back to.

It did not start under that name. The women's team spent its early years as Chelsea FC Soccer School (Hong Kong), and it was still under that banner in May 2024 when it reached the final of the first women's tournament at the HKFC Soccer Sevens.

The rebadged TSL FC Women then had to learn how to finish things off. Second in the Jockey Club Women's Football League in 2024/25, beaten finalists in the FA Cup that season, they came back for 2025/26: 8 wins, 3 draws, 71 goals scored, 6 conceded.

Home is the Happy Valley Recreation Ground, a compact pitch in the middle of the racecourse valley rather than a stadium in the ordinary sense.

The continental debut came in August 2026, in Kyrgyzstan, at the preliminary stage of the AFC Women's Champions League. Seven points from three matches, unbeaten, and out — Kaya went through on goal difference.
