Wolfsberg

The ATSV Arena on Pestalozzistraße holds about 2,000 people.

Registration came in 1923, under the name Arbeiter-Turnverein Wolfsberg, though a group had already been organising football two years earlier. The club was dissolved in 1934 and rebuilt after the war, and the club has since existed as an amateur side several divisions below the professional side that shares the town's name, Wolfsberger AC.

The two meet as the Wolfsberger Stadtderby, also called the Lavanttaler Derby, and when they were drawn together in the Austrian Cup on 25 September 2019, more than 2,500 people came to watch an amateur side take on the professionals from down the road.

On its own level, in the Kärntner Liga, ATSV has had its moments: two league titles, in 2013/14 and 2017/18, each good enough for promotion. A third success came in the Kärntner Fußballcup of 2018/19, won with a 4:0 aggregate final against FC Lendorf, a side that had beaten Wolfsberg in the same competition's final a decade earlier. The club now plays in the Regionalliga Süd, the third tier of Austrian football.

No player from this Wolfsberg has built a name beyond Carinthia, and none of the past squads have left much of a public record behind. The derby against the professionals remains the one fixture where the club draws a crowd; away from it, ATSV Wolfsberg plays largely unremarked.
