Reggie Geary's players lifted the bj-league trophy in 2013 after beating the Rizing Fukuoka in the finals: no team from the Kanto region had won the title before, and Geary became the first foreign-born coach to do it. Captain Masayuki Kabaya was named Playoff MVP that year.

The B-Corsairs formed in 2010, a committee first, a roster later, and took the floor in 2011–12. The name itself shifted in 2022, from Yokohama Bee Corsairs to Yokohama B-Corsairs.

That merger changed the level of competition the club faced, and a single championship from the bj-league era has not been followed by a B.League title, though the 2022–23 season came close: the B-Corsairs reached the Premier Semifinals and finished second in the Central Conference. Games at Yokohama BUNTAI, a hall known for years as the Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium before its rebuild, hold around 5,000 fans, split between roughly 4,090 fixed seats and 1,240 that roll back for other uses. The Kawasaki Brave Thunders and the Chiba Jets supply the sharpest regional contests, both drawn from the same Kanto ground the B-Corsairs occupy, though no one has pinned a derby name on the fixture.

Kenji Yamada's number 13 the club retired.
