Estadio Héroes de San Ramón
Cajamarca, Peru
The pitch sits in the middle of Cajamarca rather than on its edge, in the district that shares the ground's name, a short walk from the Plazuela Bolognesi and the church and convent of La Recoleta.
The ground belongs to the Instituto Peruano del Deporte. The IPD paid for new stands in 2012 and then for the switch away from grass in 2020, when a FIFA-certified Quality Pro synthetic surface went down at a cost of 1,535,000 soles. A replacement was announced in November 2024, the work began in October 2025, and by the end of that month the new carpet had been laid and was going through FIFA testing.
Its principal tenant has been there from the start. Universidad Técnica de Cajamarca has used the ground since 1942 and now brings Liga 1 football to it. Since 2024 it has shared the ground with FC Cajamarca, which won the right to play professionally that year, entering Liga 2 and then Liga 1 — so two clubs from the same city now run their home fixtures through the same 18,000-capacity bowl and the same artificial pitch.
