Jose Klinger

José Klinger came through the youth academy at Independiente del Valle and made his senior debut for the club in June 2023, going on to play two league matches that season. He also featured for the club's under-20 side in the 2023 Copa Libertadores Sub-20. In July 2024 he was sent to Independiente Juniors, the club's affiliate playing in Ecuador's second tier, where he scored five goals in more than 40 appearances.

He made his debut for the age-group side in October 2022 and has gone on to earn 18 caps and score three goals. He was part of the squad that won a silver medal at the South American Games in Asunción, playing five matches and scoring once, and he featured in all eight games as Ecuador finished fourth at the South American U-20 Championship in 2023. That tournament earned him a place at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina the same year, where he scored twice in three appearances, against Slovakia and Fiji, before Ecuador were knocked out in the round of 16.

In January 2026, Klinger joined Macará on loan from Independiente del Valle, a deal set to run until the end of that year. Since arriving, he has been a regular for the club, making 22 league appearances alongside six in the Copa Sudamericana.
