Casa Pia won the Campeonato de Lisboa and the Taça da Associação without losing a match, and beat Porto 2-0 in the Taça 27 de Julho. A second Lisbon title came in 1923-24.
One of those players, Cândido de Oliveira, captained Portugal in the country's first official international — against Spain in Madrid on 18 December 1921, a 1-3 defeat.
Casa Pia reached the inaugural Campeonato Nacional da I Divisão in 1938-39 and finished bottom of it: 1 win, 13 defeats. That was the whole of the club's top-flight experience for the next eight decades.
Three seasons later Casa Pia finished second and went up.
Between the last top-flight match in 1939 and the return: 83 years.
