Ian Subiabre

Ian Subiabre came through River Plate's academy after moving there in January 2022 from CAI in his native Comodoro Rivadavia, where he had joined as a seven-year-old. He signed his first professional contract in April 2023 and, by the end of that year, was already on Argentina's radar at the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Indonesia, where he scored against Poland.

He made his senior debut for River Plate in 2024, wearing the number 38 shirt, and went on to make 33 appearances for the club, scoring three goals. His progress prompted River Plate to extend his contract in September 2025 through to December 2028, with a release clause reported at €30 million with the potential to rise to €100 million.

At youth international level, Subiabre reached two finals with Argentina's under-20 side in 2025: the South American U-20 Championship in Venezuela and the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile, finishing as runner-up in both. He has earned 20 caps and scored three goals for the under-17 side, and added 15 caps and five goals at under-20 level.

In August 2026, River Plate sent him on loan to Club Atlético Tigre, where he switched to the number 25 shirt. The loan runs for a year, with an option to extend it by a further six months and a purchase clause attached.
