Renê Rodrigues Martins

Renê joined Sport's youth setup in 2011 and made his professional debut the following January in a 1–1 draw with Araripina in the Campeonato Pernambucano. Over five seasons at Sport he made 182 appearances, scored five goals, and won the Copa do Nordeste and two state titles before Flamengo bought half his economic rights in 2017, with the rest staying with his agent.

In 207 appearances he collected a Copa Libertadores, a Recopa Sul-Americana, two Brasileirão titles, alongside four Campeonato Carioca crowns. His best individual year came in 2018, when he picked up the Troféu Bola de Prata and was named Best Left-Back in the Prêmio Craque do Brasileirão. He also made the Brazil squad for the 2019 Copa América after debuting for the national side in 2017. Playing time dried up behind Filipe Luís and Ayrton Lucas, and Flamengo released him in April 2022.

Internacional took him on a free transfer, and he stayed three seasons, making 123 appearances. The ending there turned sour: after Internacional's Copa Sul-Americana elimination in July 2024, fans booed him, and the relationship never recovered before his contract expired that December. He signed for Fluminense in January 2025 as a free agent, on a deal running to 2026.
