Arbon Women

Arbon's women play in Swiss Premium League 2, the tier below Switzerland's top flight, a level the team knows from both sides: promotion in 2023 confirmed them there after they had spent three seasons in the Nationalliga A a decade earlier, from 2011/12 to 2013/14, before dropping back down.

The club itself dates to 1968, based in Arbon on Lake Constance, and the women's section has spent most of its history working toward the top division rather than settling into it. The Kybunhalle, where they play, holds 700.

Goalkeeper Luana Trentin has anchored the side, and the club has kept faith with its own academy, pushing youngsters like Elisa Hebibi and Leonie Walser into the senior set-up rather than buying in. Fixtures against LC Brühl Handball II and SV Fides St. Gallen carry extra weight locally, billed as the Ostschweizer Derby, matches that matter more for regional pride than league standing.

What the women's team has not done is win anything at the top level: no Swiss Championship, no Swiss Cup, and the three seasons in the Nationalliga A ended in relegation rather than a lasting foothold there.
