Boden Handboll IF Women

Bodens Damer exist in part because handball nearly left the region altogether. When the women's section of Hornskrokens IF was discontinued, a new club was set up on 26 April 2009 with a single aim, to keep the women's game going.

The climb that followed was quick. Boden went from Division 2 to the top division, Handbollsligan, and reached it for the 2016–17 season. Eighth place in 2017–18 remains their best finish there, and the same season led to their only European campaign before this one, the 2018–19 EHF Challenge Cup, which ended against SPR Pogon Szczecin. Relegation came in 2020–21. The way back took several years, and the second tier, Allsvenskan, was won in 2024–25, with Sara Nordström as its top scorer.

The cup final in March 2026 was the club's first major trophy. Boden beat Skara HF 33–32 in the ATG Svenska Cupen after shoot-outs, in a match that could have gone either way. No Swedish championship has been won.

The cup win carries the club into the EHF European League Women for 2026–27, so Bodens Damer are preparing for their first continental group-stage-level competition in the black and white kit, while also holding their place in the Swedish top flight.
